This is here because technically bacon is pork. It doesn't belong with breakfast exclusively so here it is.
We can thank Arby's commercials about their thick cut brown sugar bacon for this. I got tired of looking at that commercial and decided to try my hand at this. Success is mine!
Candied Bacon
pre heat oven to 325ºF
ingredients:
Mix the syrup into the brown sugar. You may need to add more to get it loose enough to maneuver.
Dredge the bacon in the mixture.
Lay the bacon out on a cooling rack set inside a foil lined pan. DO NOT overlap the bacon.
Sprinkle a little more brown sugar on top of the bacon slices and bake for about 25 minutes or until it looks done.
Lay these out on another cooling rack until they cool down and firm up.
Try not to eat the entire pound at once.

- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup - do NOT use the fake stuff! Get REAL syrup.
