Saute'ed Arame (sea vegetables) - Angie - 01-11-2009 Since I have been on a veggie kick, I am finding all sorts of recipies to handle exotic dishes and new twists on everyday dishes. Here is one I saw on the back of a package of sea vegetables. 2 cups Eden Arame, soaked 1 Tablespoon Eden Toasted Sesame Oil 1/2 teaspoon Eden Hot Pepper Sesame Oil 1 large onion, thinly sliced 2 carrots, cut into matchsticks 1/2 cup fresh or frozen sweet corn 1 cup cold water 2 teaspoons Eden Shoyu, or to taste 1/4 cup scallions, chopped for garnish Heat oils in a skillet and saute' onion for 3 minutes. Add carrot, arame, corn and water. Cover, bring to boil and simmer 15 minute. Add shoyu soy sauce, cook 5 minutes longer and garnish. Serves 4 Variations: saute'ed breast of chicken strips wild rice red onions beets (baked and cubed) garlic (3 cloves chopped) fresh horseradish (minced) I made this dish but added some favorites to make it a nice healthy meal for my fam. I like the sea veggies and they are a refreshing taste to most any ordinary dish. I highly recommend them! [pictures posted soon as camera charges up] |
