Jalapeno Poppers - Duchess - 09-07-2008 I hope I'm putting this in the right place, and I really didn't know what icon to use. 12 Jalapenos 3 oz. Cream cheese at room temp. 3 oz. each, shredded : Montery Jack & Sharp cheddar 3 tbsp. grated parmesan 1/3 cup beer...Must be room temp. 1/2 cup flour 1 lg. egg, beaten salt & pepper to taste bread crumbs oil for deep frying Slice the jalapenos lengthwise down one side. Remove the seeds if you don't want them to be too hot. Combine the cream cheese, Monterey Jack and sharp cheddar in a bowl, mixing well. Stuff into the peppers. Combine the parmesan, beer, flour, egg and seasonings. Mix well, batter will be thick. Dip each pepper into the batter then roll in bread crumbs. Freeze on a cookie sheet for one hour. Deep fry until golden brown. I'd love to give credit where it is due but, all I know for sure is that this recipe came from a family member. RE: Jalapeno Poppers - Twitchin Kitten - 09-09-2008 You did good here~ I'll put the chili icon on the name for ya if you want. These look tasty too. RE: Jalapeno Poppers - Angie - 09-09-2008 Mmmm, Sounds good but I am a wimp when it comes to hot stuff.... RE: Jalapeno Poppers - Twitchin Kitten - 09-10-2008 Take the seeds out Angie! The seeds are what gives any pepper their heat. They'll still be a little hot, but nothing you can't feed to the kids. Hmmmm, just might make those this weekend then...hahaha RE: Jalapeno Poppers - Angie - 09-30-2008 Ok, I made these little poppers and they were a HUGE SUCCESS as far as my fam was concerned. I would have wanted them to be a bit more eye pleasing but I don't think the taste failed at all. [attachment=30] I had more trouble with my MIL's stove and I almost gave up but my son's stomach wouldn't let me ) (he inhales food..haha). So let me know what you think guys. view entire platter RE: Jalapeno Poppers - Twitchin Kitten - 09-30-2008 They came out nice! I like the way you left the stems on the peppers for grabbing too! that's a great idea. Everything looks wonderful there. What's that in the middle (the stuff with the grapes on it)? Hummus? I never thought of putting grapes on that! We usually throw olives and pickled turnips. Note: I took your giant image out and made it a smaller clickable image. I think I need to revise the rules a bit on images! Feel free to directly upload as the software will resize them to clickable thumbs. Yeah, I was rushing last night to post (thought I had already posted this..haha). I usually upload all my pics to one of my sites to make it easier for me to place them on various forums rather than uploading directly to each site. So thanks for resizing and making things easier to access I will have to make sure I make the pics small enough for forum viewing then. The grapes were placed on the hummmus because I was out of olives ) RE: Jalapeno Poppers - Duchess - 10-03-2008 Angie...The poppers look beautiful !...I am so glad that you & you're family enjoyed them, it made me very happy to hear that. It was very interesting making these because I have always been such a wimp when it comes to hot food. I had fun making them and they went really fast too. |
