Garlic Sauce - Syria & Lebanon

This sauce is not for the faint of heart! It is boldly garlicky, bursting with flavor and is great on a heavy tasting fish like salmon or on meat or vegetables.

Garlic Sauce
Taratoor

Calories: 50 per Tbsp
  • 2 heads of garlic, peeled
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • salt to taste

Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until a creamy sauce is produced. Add more lemon by the teaspoon if it's too 'garlicky'.
Store in a jar or bottle with a tight fitting lid.
Refrigerate until ready to use.

Variation:
Garlic Lime Sauce - use only 1 head of garlic (or less to taste) and substitute the lemon for lime
