Praline Sauce

This is decadent and delicious and wonderful over ice cream!

Praline Sauce

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup (use the real stuff!)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp rum or if desired, 1/2 tsp rum flavoring
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts ( I like pecans for this )

Heat butter over medium heat until golden brown.
Cool.
Gradually add sugar, mixing until smooth. Stir in syrup and water.
Heat to boiling and stir 1 minute. Cool slightly (the sauce thickens as it cools). Stir in rum and nuts.

Makes about 1 cup.
