Deer Burgers - Eric - 07-20-2009

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground deer meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. worcestersire sauce
  • 1 tsp. dijon mustard
  • 1 tbls. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. each of basil, majoram, pepper, paprika
  • 6 onion rolls


Directions

1. Blend all ingredients, make patties cook to desired doneness on stove , broiler ,or grill. serve on onion rolls with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. choice of condiments and side.

This sounds more like a meatloaf kind of recipe than burgers. I would think it works both ways?

Can't you just make plain ground deer meat into patties like you do hamburger and grill it up?

No , due to the fact that Venison ( deer meat ) is so the The Ratio of fat to lean will cause them NOT to stick together and burn do to most folks tend to over cook it.

That's what I thought. I noticed when I make bison burgers they don't stick together as well as beef but they do taste so much better!
